Looking for the moon, finding a fisherman
On October 25, 2026, I was at Humber Bay Park East waiting for the Hunter’s full moon to emerge from the clouds over the Toronto skyline. While I watched the sky, movement along the water’s edge caught my attention. Out popped a mink with a fish firmly in its jaws.
The mink scrambled across the rocks toward the bushes with its feast, and I had a scramble of my own: camera off the tripod, settings switched from moon photography to wildlife, and a few quick shots before the moment was gone.
These five photographs were captured within seventeen seconds, from the mink carrying its catch across the rocks to the brief face-to-face views that followed. An unexpected highlight of a cloudy evening.
